Overview
Lead projects as they relate to corrective action for Connectors Value Stream in resolution of safety issues, customer complaints, scrap reductions, efficiency problems, rate improvements, process deviations, Engineering Sample Runs, cost reduction projects and preventative maintenance.
Lead and analyze production equipment and make assessments to replace, update or rebuild equipment that leads to overall cost and efficiency improvements as they relate to controls and PC based systems.
Lead and support equipment troubleshooting efforts as they arise with the ability too efficiently and independently work with various U.S. and global electronics systems and device suppliers.
Maintain and/or support all related process documentation, not limited to but including repair logs, manuals, drawings, and procedures.
Support new program launch development efforts for new products, product extensions, and equipment releases into the plants.
Participate in product, equipment, and tooling design reviews for the purpose of developing a robust product and manufacturing process.
Prepare and obtain quotes and materials needed for manufacturing equipment changes or improvements.
Work from verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, or other TE departmental input such as TEOA toward process changes or improvements.
Must be able to work and act in a professional manner with all levels of associates and interface with customers as required.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Requirements:
Candidate should have a BSEE or BSME or equivalent with at least 8
years of relevant documented experience with proven track record of problem solving's.
Candidate must be willing and capable of following OSHA and related electrical safety standards.
Candidate must be experienced with Controls, Programming, and PC Based systems. This includes storage applications, communication systems and software as they relate to robotics and automated equipment.
Candidate must have extensive knowledge with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC controls. Additional knowledge of Omron and Koyo is a plus.
Preferred candidate will have experience with German, Asian and U.S manufacturing equipment.
Preferred candidate will have experience with Servo, Robotic and motion systems: Siemens, Intelligent Actuator, Epson, Staubli, Yamaha, Emerson, and Promicon.
Preferred candidate will have experience in machine vision systems and applications: examples- Cognex, Keyence, Omron, and PPT.
Preferred candidate will have experience in component testing equipment: examples - Cirris, Dynalab, and Laser Pin Scanning.
AutoCAD capability is required for updating schematics/electrical drawings.
Proficient knowledge of MS office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Individual must be a proactive/reactive Team Player that can work in a fasted paced environment with multiple and changing priorities.
Individual must be able to demonstrate sense of urgency.
Automotive Industry experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools a plus.
