Performs analog and mixed-signal IC physical implementation including chip-level and block level floor planning and partitioning as well as detailed and complete circuit layout creation.
Performs parasitic extraction of a layout, transistor level simulation, comparison against pre-layout (schematic level) simulations and independently assesses and optimizes a layout design against physical impairments, including circuit parasitics as well aslayout dependent effects (LDEs).
Performs layout design of ESD and latch-up prevention structures as well as integration of digital P&R blocks into a mixed-signal die.
Work with the design team and play a critical role in aspects of chip design including power analysis and routing, signal integrity analysis and routing, technology and tool evaluation.
5 years of experience in analog IC layout required
BSEE (or equivalent) desired
Intimately familiar with transistor level sub block layout techniques including cross-quadding, interdigitation, metal runmatching/kelvining, layout of sensitive analog devices including active as well as passive components such as integrated capacitors, inductors and resistors.
Proficient with both block and top level physical verification including LVS, DRC, metal/poly density, antenna, design formanufacturing among others.
Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Ocean, Perl, Skill etc.),net-listing and basic transistor level simulation.
Proficient with at least one of the following EDA layout tools: Cadence Virtuoso XL, Mentor Graphics Calibre, Synopsis Hercules.
Familiarity with basic circuit level concepts including current mirrors, differential pairs and amplification, frequency response and stability would be an asset. Ability to run analog circuit simulations as partof the physical verification/optimization process.
