Overview:
Assesses, plans, implements, documents, organizes prioritize, delegates, supervises and coordinates the care of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric as prescribed within parameters of the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Provides nursing care via the nursing process for the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing careCollects and analyzes patient/significant other dataCompletes an admission database and ongoing assessment to include collaboration with patients, significant others and other health care providersImplements a plan of care for each patient (utilizing clinical pathways where applicable) and individualizes to meet the age specific needs of patients/significant othersIdentifies variances and makes adjustments in the plan of care based on evaluation of the plan and effectiveness of nursing interventionsDocuments and updates the plan of care, nursing care, nursing interventions and patient response to care, and keeps healthcare team, patients and significant other informedContributes to the discharge plan by identifying homecare needsRecognizes changes in patients' conditions and revises the plan of care appropriatelyDemonstrates advanced competencies and critical thinking skills in day to day practiceIdentifies and implements educational needs for patients/significant others.

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

New RN Graduates:
Acceptance into Cone Health New Graduate program or completion of an acute care new graduate program.
Preferred:
Experienced RN :
One year of Acute Care RN experience is preferredHiring leader may consider other RN experience at their discretion.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIREDRN Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderPREFERREDThe following certifications are preferred and may be required within a certain timeframe of hire as defined by the specific nursing unit.
