Revenue Cycle Manager Description Customer Service Coordinators are responsible for all functions related to the collection of patient balances, providing superior customer service to our patients They may be responsible for other aspects of collections, customer billing problems and reducing the number of accounts receivable.
Duties and Responsibilities Answer incoming customer inquiries regarding patient balances, answering questions and resolving disputes Communicate directly with patients regarding their financial responsibility for services, collecting copay and deductibles and setting up payment arrangements according to policy Manage customer issues and complaints concerning billing, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives, and then following up to ensure resolution.
Document detailed and adequate records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints timely and accurately in the patients' account in the billing system.
Contact insurance companies to check eligibility and verify benefits via phone or online portals as needed to ensure accurate coverage and billing.
Contact patients with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the past due amount or negotiate a payment plan Use credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches and other tools in an effort to resolve mail returns Identify issues and trends, escalating as needed for quick resolution minimizing impact to revenue Attend training sessions as required to maintain system knowledge.
Maintain department productivity and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and systems to improve workflows, efficiencies, and to meet all goals/metrics that are set for the department.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations Promote a culture that reflects the organization's values, encourages good performance, and enhances productivity.
Assist with other billing/collection duties and AR projects as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred Experience/Skills:
1 to 3 years' Medical Customer Service experience.
Must possess knowledge of the following:
Explanation of Benefits (EOB's) Understanding of deductible, copays, coinsurance, and denial codes Attention to detail Ability to prioritize independently Prior experience using Imagine billing software a plus Ability to multi-task in a busy office environment Proficient customer service skills Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Email Ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System.
Knowledge:
Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery.
Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Physical requirements:
Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling.
Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
The flow of work and character of duties involve remaining in a seated stationary position and performing keyboard operations constantly; communicating with internal and external stakeholders frequently; and moving/traversing about the office or remaining in an upright stationary position on an occasional basis.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Moderate noise associated with a typical work environment (computers, printers, and light traffic) is characteristic of this job.
Conditions of employment:
This role is an onsite role in our Scheduling and Billing Department, Covid Vaccination, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines, wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
