Assistant United States Attorney

The Criminal Division is seeking an entry-level attorney to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney. The AUSA will be responsible for prosecuting a variety of federal crimes, with particular emphasis on firearm, violent crime and narcotics matters. The AUSA will also be assigned appellate, research and writing responsibilities. Link to the office website:

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1 (one) year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.United States citizenship is required. Preferred
Qualifications:
Applicants must demonstrate analytical ability and strong research, writing and courtroom skills. Applicants must exhibit excellent communication skills, strong work ethic and eagerness to learn, and the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff and law enforcement agencies. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
