Job Description:
The Desk Side Support Technician plays a hands-on crucial role within the Global End User Technology Solutions team and is responsible for day-to-day operation of IT equipment (PC, MAC, server, voice and data backup; IT infrastructure). The Technician accomplishes this by providing both touch labor to support remote problem solving and by providing local, hands-on, technical support to personnel within their facility or facilities. The Technician must build a strong working relationship with the staff in the facility and must be able to represent their needs within the wider IT community.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and mobile data computer and server problems. Be a technical advisor to management and end users to insure they have the proper IT equipment to be successful. Be a MAC technical advisor for the development and implementation of MAC standards within the enterprise. Instruct and train users on software and/or hardware as needed. Perform routine system maintenance. Maintain accurate IT equipment, software and license inventory in Asset Management Tool. Install, upgrade and replace selected software and hardware products according to Avery Dennison standards. Repair hardware (PCs, MACs, Servers, Telephony) as necessary Work closely with service vendor, other Avery Dennison IT teams, and personnel to ensure continuity of service. Recommend and implement changes in software and hardware to improve computer capabilities. Assist in implementing best practices and IT standards that will more effectively utilize IT resources. As needed, provide after-hours support for systems including, but not limited to, issue resolution, customer/core installations, and server monitoring. Ensure support is provided to end users in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Lead projects which improve infrastructure services while maximizing return on investment. Maintain incident management, problem management, change management, and asset management records on the Remedy system. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Apple Certified Technician required A+, Net+, Security+, MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCSA, Cisco certifications a plus 3-5 years of IT support skills in an enterprise environment. Advanced knowledge of current PC/Server hardware, software, and operating systems 3-5 years performing routine software installations and program updates. 3-5 years performing routine troubleshooting and problem resolution on computer, server, network and telecommunication systems. Experience supporting Lotus Notes client and Google mail and apps. Experience working effectively with others and providing superior customer service. Ability to travel occasionally to support other sites when needed. Estimated 20% travel.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
A 4 year bachelor's degree preferred. A+, Net+, Security+, MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCSA, Cisco certifications a plus Experience in a manufacturing environment highly valued. ITIL foundation training is an asset.
