Responsibilities:
- Recruit & train new volunteers for the entire organization, with a focus on the Meals on Wheels program.
- Responsible for ensuring complete volunteer information is gathered and data input is complete within our Scheduler system.
- Respond to all requests for volunteer opportunities through phone, e-mail, website, etc.
- Promote volunteer opportunities in the community through social media, in-person presentations, corporate partnerships, and more.
- Oversee the daily Meals on Wheels distribution at our corporate office.
- Organize and execute volunteer appreciation, including recognition, annual volunteer luncheon, and other activities.
- Oversee the Greensboro Grasshopper's SRG Parking Lot fundraising opportunity, if available, during baseball season.
- Promotion of other volunteer opportunities within Senior Resources of Guilford.
- Assist Nutrition Department staff in the annual Santa for Seniors holiday program including the recruitment of volunteers to assist with donation pick-ups, packing gift bags, and gift bag distribution to all participants.
- Recruit a minimum of 10 Community Champions (politicians, community leaders, first responders, business owners, etc.
) to deliver meals during the annual national March for Meals event and arranging media coverage.
- Assist the Director of Nutrition Services with program expansion in areas where hot meal routes are not currently established by recruiting and training new volunteers when new route locations are identified.
- Assist with the Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day meal deliveries by ensuring routes are filled by volunteers and representing the agency at the meal pick-up point.
- Assist the Nutrition Support Specialist in recruiting volunteers for our Meals on Wheels pet program.
- Oversee regular updates to the agency's website and Meals on Wheels social media, to promote volunteerism throughout the agency.
- Willingness to present new ideas, create streamlined processes, and focus on program growth.
- -Other duties as assigned.
