Position SummaryThe Underwriting Support Specialist provides support to the Field Underwriting team by managing and fielding incoming calls, assisting with loan file registration, and performing routine administrative tasks.
The incumbent works under clearly defined procedures and processes with regular supervision on most work assignments.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities Provides phone coverage to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls.
Retrieves voicemail and updates outgoing voicemail greeting.
Provides customer service by directing callers/clients to the appropriate staff member and responding to basic inquiries in a timely manner within assigned level of authority.
Assists Underwriting Support staff with requesting missing documents.
Adheres to performance standards for productivity, quality, turnaround time, and data accuracy.
Required Skills/
Experience:
Basic knowledge of mortgage industry documents.
Ability to follow instructions, prioritizes workload, and performs basic administrative tasks.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Possesses a strong customer service orientation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively deal with customers in a professional, concise, and courteous manner.
Basic proficiency with MS Office and Underwriting system applications.
