ExemptDescription & RequirementsWomble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, an AmLaw 100 firm with more than 1,000 lawyers based in 31 US and UK office locations, seeks a talented and experienced Business Development Strategist.
The Business Development Strategist will be responsible for conceiving and implementing elements of the firm's marketing and business development programs specific to the firm's Intellectual Property practice areas, including IP Litigation, Patent Prosecution, Trademarks & Copyrights, Data Privacy, Marketing & Advertising, Licensing, Tech Transactions, and others.
The Business Development Strategist will also support a portfolio of Strategic Client Teams aligned by sector and/or practice areas.
The candidate will be a member of our BD leadership team, working under the direct supervision of the Director of Business Development & Strategic Pursuits and in day-to-day collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer and other firm leadership.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and increase client satisfaction in the IP space.
This position requires excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to strategically manage multiple projects, internal clients and priorities.
Responsibilities Create and execute strategic business development plans that align with the firm's overall strategy and goals, including leading teams through the strategic planning process, identifying new business opportunities and engagement strategies, as well as, tracking and analyzing performance to provide regular reports to management Work closely with other client development and firm administrative teams, such as communications, digital, events, design, pursuits, and practice group management, to ensure that all business development efforts are coordinated and aligned with the aligned group's strategic business development plans and the firm's overall strategy Promote cross-selling, service integration and service expansion by aligning and working with cross functional attorney teams to identify and pursue strategic targeting opportunities Manage a portfolio of strategic client teams at various levels of maturity, contributing to the development and implementation of a strategic business development plan for each, conducting regular meetings, and working towards achieving goals set out for key performance metrics including growth, opportunity, diversity, engagement and relationships Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, industry organizations, and other stakeholders in the IP space.
Work with attorneys to develop targeted lists (for Client Alert mailings and/or business development pursuits) Manage firm sponsorships at industry/trade conferences and local market events, including providing on-site support and building relationships with clients and prospects Execute the firm's strategic initiatives and brand deployment through creative and innovative marketing programs.
Create marketing materials, such as brochures, presentations, and proposals, to support business development efforts.
Identify opportunities for content marketing/thought leadership Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform business development strategies and identify potential areas for growth Lead and participate in pitch and proposal development processes, including identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and presenting to clients Capture, manage and leverage the expertise and experience of the firm attorneys practicing in the IP space Facilitate and/or participate in business development trainings, including contributing to the generation of curriculum.
Conduct 1:
1 business development coaching sessions, working with individuals on their personal business development plans Work with recruiting and lateral integration department and practice leaders to integrate new attorneys and develop integration plans Support and advise practice group leaders in Business Development budget allocation and funding decisions Maintain and log key activities (proposals, events, business development activities) in CRM system Monitor and report on business development metrics, including revenue growth, market share, and client satisfaction Oversee, coordinate and delegate certain work relating to business development tasks and projects Assist on firm-wide or special projects, as neededRequirements Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, or other related field required; MBA is a plus 8

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
