Hiring Salary Range:
$33,097-$40,608 Full Salary Range:
$33,097-$50,760 Annually Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday (8:
30am - 5:
30pm) typically.
The person in this position will work Monday - Friday, an 8 hour work shift (hours may vary).
This may also require after-hours and/or overtime work in assistance with special events or operational needs.
Work schedules are designed to meet the needs of those served and personnel may have their shifts altered and/or changed to comply with Fair Labor Standards Act to meet the goals and objectives of the division.
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
This position serves as an ambassador for the city.
The employee is on the front line of meeting citizens parking in Greensboro and helping assist/direct them around the city and educating them to the parking ordinances enforced in the city limits.
This position is responsible for enforcing all city parking ordinances and in some instances assist with traffic control when requested.
Essential functions would be to enforce city parking ordinances, which would include marking vehicles, documenting times, reading meters, issuing tickets, photographing parking violations, towing or booting vehicles, and completing necessary paperwork.
The person selected would assist in directing traffic and interact with the general public by providing directions and explanations of city parking ordinances and North Carolina General Statutes related to disabled parking.
Physical duties include:
standing, extensive walking, carrying, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, vision, hearing, and talking.
Person must be able to operate motor vehicles, hand-held computers, cell phone and chalk sticks.
Primary work location would be outside with the weather being mild to extreme.
Employee would wear a departmentally issued uniform and is required to be at work during inclement weather.
Parking Enforcement Specialists are considered essential personnel and would be required to be at work during even extreme weather conditions.
Non-physical requirements would involve time pressures, noisy/distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, interacting with the public and in some instances irate citizens.
The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED OR No High School Diploma/GED with 5-7 years of experience in security, legal, law, public safety or a closely related field Valid Driver's License An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):

years of experience in parking enforcement/parking operations Customer Service Experience (i.
e.
assisting, directing customers, educating customers on rules, policies, regulations, etc.
) Experience working with (Microsoft Office).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
